Deluge test: For offshore environment, we perform waterproofness testing, completed by vibration cycles and corrosion testing
Global Market Access for ATEX Products?
What is IECEx? - The IECEx scheme is an international Conformity Assessment Scheme covering Apparatus for Explosive Atmospheres, as the Internationally accepted means demonstrating claimed compliance with IEC Standards.
It enables direct access, without local re-certification, to the following markets: Australia, New Zealand.
It makes it easier to obtain local national certification of all IECEx member countries: Russian Federation, China, United States, Serbia and Montenegro, Singapore,.. as well as ATEX certification.
The main benefit: of the IECEx Scheme for manufacturers is to eliminate or significantly reduce costs associated with:
- Multiple Re-testing assessments
- Delays in accessing markets
- Access to smaller markets.
LCIE is a founding member and certification body within the IECEx Scheme.
We deliver: EXTR Test reports, Quality Insurance Reports and IECEx compliance certificates
Access international markets: thanks to our mutual agreements with local certification bodies.
LCIE has developped mutual recognition agreements with the following certification bodies which enables us to issue local certifications allowing access to the markets mentioned.
- China: CQST, PCEC, NEPSI-SIPAI
- Korea: KGS, KTL
- Japan: TIIS
- Brazil: UCIEE, BV Brazil
- USA: FM, US Coast Guards,/li>

ATEX Background
Who is subject to ATEX Directive 94/9/EC?
The ATEX 94/9/EC concerns the manufacturers e.g.: of products, of small, medium big size assembly, as well as their representatives established within the European Community.
They have to determine whether their equipment has to be submitted to the Directive.
The Directive 94/9/EC ATEX Guide for this Directive gives the way to conduct this assessment.
What are the obligations under the ATEX Directive?
A manufacturer, or his representative, is the person responsible for the design, the construction and for the progress of certification and distribution.
All these tasks may be subcontracted provided the manufacturer keeps the whole responsibility. When producing products or assemblies, the manufacturer has the duty to determine the conditions applicable to the equipment. When it is a product made in series, he defines the category applicable to its product. When he produces a specific product, he must obtain the necessary information (ex. existing zoning), from the customer, who generally is the end-user.
Whoever places the product on the market (the manufacturer or his representative) bears the responsibility to demonstrate the equipment distributed meets the requirements of the ATEX Directive.
