Accreditations
Accreditations recognize a laboratory's competence to perform specific tests and are awarded to individual locations. Voluntary bodies accredit laboratories within their jurisdiction. Each body maintains mutual recognition agreements with other accreditation bodies to assist in serving the international community.
Notified Body
A Notified Body is an organization that has been nominated by a European Union member government and notified by the European Commission. The primary role of a Notified Body is to provide services for conformity assessment on the requirements put forth in the New Approach Directives, including verifying the manufacturers conformity to the conditions listed in each directive. Bureau Veritas can provide conformity assessment services including product testing, inspection, quality assurance, type examination, technical file evaluation, design dossier examination, and identification of standards.
