Founded in 1994 by a group of partners, including chemist, Dr Manfred Mayer and engineer Dr Peter Kesners, ecb-ONLINE began as a manufacturing company for online testing equipment. A year later, the company separated into two divisions - one division focusing on manufacturing and the other, on providing chemical analysis services for textiles.
The analytical division's expertise was soon recognized, and it particpated in a number of European organizations developing test methods for azo dyes, organotines, flame retardants, sensitizing disperse dyes and other substances. IN 2000, ecb-ONLINE discontinued its manufacturing operations and became a consumer products testing lab owned and operated by Dr Mayer.
