Bureau Veritas Electrical participated in the 2006 SinoCES show (China International Consumer Electronics Show) that took place in Qingdao, China, from July 7 to 10, 2006. At this international exhibition, Bureau Veritas presented its qualification and certification services, helping extend its brand awareness to the senior figures in the Chinese Consumer Electronics market.
SinoCES is the n°1 Asian-Pacific consumer electronics event. It is the only national level electronic show approved by Chinese government. It is also supported by the Consumer Electronic Association (CEA) and was organized by the China Electronic Chamber and the Qingdao Municipal People’s government. At the event, more than 500 exhibitors and more than 50,000 visitors attended the show, most of them being famous companies/brands in the Electronics & Electrical field such as Lenovo, Haier, Apple, Intel, Sony, Hitachi, etc…
2006 SinoCES was divided into two parts: exhibition and conference. The conference part included the 2006 CEF (International Consumer Electronics Forum for Industry Development) on July 7.
Conference
During the conference, Arnaud André, Bureau Veritas Executive Vice-President, Human Resources & Organisation, delivered a speech entitled “Facilitating Trade Worldwide”.
Present was the Minister of Commerce, PRC; the Minister of Information Industry, PRC; the Vice-President of the Consumer Electronic Association of US and some international companies such as Haier Group, Intel, Texas Instrument, etc… Around 1.000 senior people in well known electrical and electronic companies attended the Forum.
On July 8, the “CEF conference in Reaction to Electronics Environmental Protection Law” was organised by the Ministry of Information Industry, China Electronic Chamber of Commerce, and supported by Bureau Veritas. Oliver Butler, Vice-President of Bureau Veritas Electrical & Electronic Product Services delivered a speech in front of more than 200 delegates covering our solutions.
Exhibition
2006 SinoCES’s exhibition space covered 45,000 square meters with over 500 exhibitors participating. The exhibition itself attracted over 41,000 professional attendees worldwide. Bureau Veritas had a booth and presented its qualification and certification services. During the event, the Bureau Veritas stand attracted more than 800 potential international clients.
Meetings
During the event, a number of meetings were also held, including Arnaud Andre’s meeting with the Vice-Minister of Information Industry, P.R.China, Mr. Lou QinJian as pictured right. We also held meetings covering the market position, global strategy and development in China of Bureau Veritas; increasing environmental issues such as the new EU RoHS & WEEE Directives as well as our complete solutions.
Numerous media titles particpated in the meetings including SOHU.com, Twice China, China Quality News, China Trade News, China Daily and China Business News.
