Click to view a larger version Paris, France – December 19th, 2007 - Bureau Veritas Electrical and Electronic Product Services has spent the last year developing its range of compliance solutions for Green Energy suppliers. This investment is now ready to be realized and means suppliers worldwide can benefit from Bureau Veritas’ services for DC-AC inverters, solar panels/modules, fuel cells, wind turbines and even complete solar systems. Demand for green energy has grown substantially in the past few years driven mainly by rising conventional energy costs, increased realization of environmental protection as well as political support. An example of the growing importance placed by governments on Green Energy is highlighted by the European Union's recently publicized target of 20 percent of their energy to be produced from renewable fuels by 2020.

Whilst this growth is great news for the increasing numbers of Solar, Wind or Fuel Cell technology suppliers; they also face many and varied challenges. What considerations need to be taken into account when designing a product that functions effectively with the various in-country climatic differences? How best to understand and comply with the many grid interconnection requirements? How can you develop products that meet and surpass your reliability requirements? How can you positively differentiate your product(s) and compete against global competitors? These concerns all need to be managed to warrant success in this competitive, yet blossoming market.

Horst Haug, General Manager of Bureau Veritas E&E Product Services GmbH, states, "As Germany plays a pivotal role in Green Energy adoption, we have been providing Safety, EMC and Grid Protection Testing and Certification to Solar, Wind & Fuel Cell suppliers for many years now. The obvious step was to offer these services worldwide with a knowledgeable and capable local support structure. To prepare for this, we have researched our clients’ needs, invested in our personnel and systems and as a result, we can now offer our services worldwide. This is complemented by new services such as international approvals, failure analysis and environmental testing services, all helping to overcome the challenges faced by our clients such as reducing recalls, failures and complaints and providing competitive sales arguments. Critically though, our Grid Protection testing against American, Asian and European requirements is offered worldwide with experts and facilities located in China, France, Taiwan and USA as well as our center of competence in Germany."
